Madagascar 3 - Marion Public Library (Nov 3, 2pm)

Madagascar 3 is playing at the Marion Public Library this Saturday afternoon, at 2pm.  The Children's Library staff host this FREE event in the basement, with popcorn for the kids.  I took my oldest son on a "date" to see a movie at the library last month while his brother was taking a nap (we saw the Lorax), and he LOVED it!  He's been seeing the poster up for Madagascar 3 and is quite excited to do it again!  Our "family movie" of the summer was Madagascar 3, and it was pretty funny (my boys thought it was hysterical!), so it should be fun!

Campbell's Pumpkin Patch in Wabash - Open Until Oct 31

If you haven't been already this season, make sure you get to Campbell's Pumpkin Patch in Wabash before Halloween!  This great, family-run, affordable operation closes on Halloween until next Sept.  I've been twice already this season, once with my son's preschool class, and today with both my kiddos, and we had a great time!





There is a corn maze (my kids raced through about two dozen times), a hay ride, a hay maze (good, we found, for playing hide & go seek), pumpkins, tractors, a snack bar (amazing pumpkin cake), fire pit, and a giant inflatable bouncy pumpkin (my kids favorite!) for only $.75/10 mins.

Halloween Party at Library - Friday, Oct 26th

The Marion Public Library is having a Halloween Party for kids on Friday, Oct 26th from 6pm-7:30pm.  Kids we welcomed (but not required) to come in costume for some fun.  My kids are excited... maybe we'll see you there!?!

FREE Kids Haircuts at JC Penney starting Nov 4th

I've never heard of this until recently, but apparently in the fall JC Penney has offered FREE back-to-school haircuts for kids!  They did it in Aug, and will be starting up again in November.  This promo is for grades K – 6th, every Sunday, starting November 4th,. You will need to call your local JCPenney to make hair appointments.

Mississinewa 1812 Event - This Weekend (10/12-14)

Mississinewa 1812 is this weekend, outside of Marion, IN.  I'd never heard of this event before moving to the area, but have taken my kids the past couple of years, and it is pretty neat to see how people lived in 1812.  If you haven't been before, I suggest wearing good walking shoes, taking water bottles for your family, and making sure you have enough layers on to stay warm!  Plan on spending a couple of hours walking around, sampling the food (take some cash!), and of course, seeing the re-enactment.
